Jose Raul Garcia MontesExecutive Director

He holds a PhD in Port Management and an MSc in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid.

Currently, he is Executive Director at OIM and also leads the Technical Consultancy Area.

He is Board Director of Eurogate Group Terminals, company dedicated to the management of port passenger terminals as well as to provide passenger services.

Since 2013, he has also developed a wide spectrum of projects related to administrative concessions in ports, both from the economic‐financial angle, and from the management.

He has been developing his professional activity on fields and companies related with transport infrastructures. Thus, he has participated in several relevant M&A processes related to container terminals, marinas and other port assets.

Throughout his nearly twenty five year career as an engineer he has performed numerous projects, studies and researches in the field of maritime, port and coastal engineering, in countless locations, both in Spain and a number of foreign countries.

He has participated in several projects related to maritime transport in the framework of the Trans‐European Transport Networks (TEN‐T), both on the side of the administration and on the side of private companies.

He has participated in several projects related to LNG as maritime fuel, both for the Spanish administration (Port Authorities and Spanish Ports) and for private companies (regasification terminals and gas distribution companies).

He has participated in several international contests related to port management, and has received three awards or mentions for presented proposals.

He is a member of the Research Group on Maritime and Port Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid.

He has participated as a researcher at the Technical University of Madrid in many research developed within the University.

He has participated in regulation issues at Spanish Committee for Standardization (AENOR).

He is a professor at several postgraduate and masters programs at the Technical University of Madrid since 2006.

He is author of a wide number of scientific publications, including books, articles in technical journals and conference papers.
